I upgraded to Catalina and now it says that iPhoto is not supported and it will not open. Where are my pictures? How do I get it supported?

iPhoto depends on a 32-bit library and won't run in Catalina. Use Photos or another application instead; if Photos doesn't automatically open the library, launch it with the Option key held down and choose it.

My photos are in photos, not iphotos from now on? I did find them. Thank you! Does this mean I need a new computer that is 32 bit compatible? Did I basically overload my computer (which is only 3 years old) by downloading Catalina?

To get started with Photos, you may want to have a look at the online user guide. It is very different from iPhoto.
