I can't update my Mac Book Pro (10.9.5)

I recently restored my Mac Book Pro because of a memory issue and my Mac is running on it's original setting from 2015 it's currently on version 10.9.5 and it says its running on the latest software through iTunes but it isn't. How do I update it?

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download Catalina.
