Why is the alarm tied to the volume? The point of the recurring alarm is so you don’t have to check it every night. If I lower my phone’s volume, it changes the alarm volume. The alarm should have its own setting. I think it did with the X, I never had a problem until the 11. If you know how to fix this please let me know or Apple please send a fix for this issue.

Under Settings select Sound & Haptics (or Sound for older iPhones) and uncheck "Change with Volume buttons" and set alarm volume to desired level. I think it is meant to be like that. I’ve never had the option to set the alarm’s volume separately. However, you can leave feedback for the Clock app here: www.apple.com/feedback.
