Compass On Apple Watch

So I have the series 5 and have a Milanese watch strap. I’ve been wanting to use the compass, but it seems that the north and south poles are switched. So north and south are opposite sides to where they should be.

I know this as when I use the compass app on my iPhone, and use the compass on my brothers Apple Watch, the north and south poles are in the right places.
