Last month downloaded Malwarebytes to clean up some malware. I thought I deleted the application from application file. On my husbands there is a malware icon in the top bar. Yesterday went back into mine found downloaded file and put in trash. Last night it is still on husbands top bar. Our computer is Mac Os. Thank you.
If you wish to remove Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, as well as the helper tool and all data and settings files, simply open
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and choose Uninstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from the Help menu. What help menu...It has scan, next steps, get help. In get help it tells you how to install but not how to uninstall because there is no help menu to check uninstall. I got the free version both times. Thanks
It doesn't matter if it's free or paid version, it should be there on the help end if you've re-installed Malwarebytes.
But if you haven't or if for some reason its not there, you can download this uninstaller script from https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mac_uninstall_script/
Just launch it from your Downloads folder.
Did what you said. Actually on mine yesterday. Today clicked malwarebytes in application on his and thought it would delete. As you can see in picture application is gone but it is still in bar. When you click on it it says no application, but it will run a scan.

It says start scan, settings- clicked on it no application found, update, and open malwarebytes- which says no application found.
I thought I would check his downloads. Found malwarebytes from 2015 application opened it and used the uninstall. Thought that would do it but no.
Download and run the uninstaller script I gave you:

You need to use the built-in uninstall option. Reinstall Malwarebytes and use that method to uninstall it.
You need to download Malwarebytes again and install it. Once installed and running, you’ll find the Help Menu and an option to uninstall and it will remove the Menu Bar Extra that you’re seeing.
I can't read the screenshot, what does the dialogue box say and what are your choices?
