I am having trouble setting my face for the screen

I just got a Apple Watch Series 3 watch for Christmas, I am having trouble setting my face for the screen. I am following all the instructions found online but it is still not on my screen. Please help me.

Changing the face on my Apple Watch is no longer on my Apple phone. How do I correct this? I cannot change the face on my Apple Watch because it will not show up on my phone. How do I correct this however, I can change the face on the actual watch, but I can’t do anything from my iPhone.
