Destroy an old Apple Card?
The chip was somehow damaged on my Apple Card. I ordered and received a new one. How do I destroy the old card?

Scissors work.
It’s a metal card. It will destroy a shredder. So that’s not a good solution. You also need a tin snips to cut it into small pieces. Many cards are now metal instead of plastic, and the old methods of destroying them don’t work. My card issuers will send a prepaid mailer to return expired cards.
A drill also works.
The drill actually word work, the scissors not so much.
hitting it hard enough to obliterate the name/number/etc.
One could also
There is no number on it and since the name is etched in that is going to take quite a bit of hammering. I'm not sure what the purpose of that is, since the card is deactivated since it had already failed, and it requires an iPhone with the account to use it what is the risk of having a card with a name, and Apple logo, and Goldman Sachs on it?
I shred DVDs but your and Bob gave use (coffee day) a couple of ideas: You could use Bob's drill and drill a hole directly in the center of it, buy a small clock mechanism, and build a desktop clock, like people used to do with AOL CDs back in the day or, using Bob's drill again, put a hold at one end, get a chain, and use it as a dog tag.
His shredder makes an easy job of credit cards; wasn't thinking about the titanium, but he thinks that would be ok too. What about a hammer - I use that on DVDs which have an old backup on.
I like the scale idea, you could etch in the measurement marks and use it as a wallet ruler.
You guys must have really powerful scissors and shedders if they can slice titanium, which is what the Apple Card is made of. Actually 90% titanium and some other metals.
unless it is made for it the titanium will destroy the blades on the shredder. This is pretty thick for a credit card. I’m not sure what the hammer is supposed to accomplish.
yes! would make an awesome paperweight and as a precise measuring tool since they are consistent in length and width.
There are no entries under " Other devices" so I don't think that's an option.
Thanks. We'll see what mine will do - it's up for renewal this year.
