Is there any way to get a Microsoft application to be supported on macOS? I’ve heard of people downloading windows on a Mac but I don’t understand it.... any help would be greatly appreciated!

What application? Microsoft Office is supported. Windows is supported. Tell us what it is you are trying to do that you think is not supported.
All of the software that works fine is designed to run in macOS. John is referring to software designed for Windows, not Windows itself or software written for Macs; the only difference knowing what program it is would make is to rule out some of the possible methods.

It’s some file on my Sandisk USB that is from Sandisk. I was previously a windows user and now that I am a Mac user when I try to open it to see what it actually is, it says that macOS can’t open it due to it being a windows application. Hopefully that helps clear it up.
The message is self explanatory. It's an application compiled for Windows and cannot be run directly in the Mac OS.
On top of that, you don't need it. They put that kind of junk on every USB drive they sell.
RunSandiskSecure is a program that creates an encrypted vault on the USB. The program uses a private key to alter the files under a single directory or directory structure so you can carry private data without fear of exposure.
Windows now has BitLocker which does the same and OS X supports it:

I wanted to open it and see what it was but it says “you can’t open this application because Microsoft Windows applications are not supported on macOS”
There is also a folder named “SanDiskSecureAccess Vault”, and when I open it up it has three files: index.dat, keychain.dat, and version.dat, none of these can open on my MacBook.
Choose Utilities from the Finder's Go menu, open the Disk Utility, and erase it.

Sorry I don't understand your post. Microsoft Office runs fine on Macs. as do other programs. The OP needs to tell us what app he is asking about.
,exe files are Windows executable files. .exe files will not run on a MacOS. You can install Windows using Boot Camp Assistant or using a virtual machine in order to run your .exe file. If you are trying to use an external drive you do not need this executable file. Just format the drive for your Mac.
Use Windows, CrossOver Mac, or similar software to run it. Windows and macOS are separate platforms.
