Final Cut Pro files devouring storage space

I just started using Final Cut Pro two days ago and now have three movie projects I'm working on. Suddenly, my macbook is telling me I'm almost out of storage and the largest files are these TextEdit Documents titled "Frame 0 -123" for example each almost 1 gb but there are about 200 of them. I have no idea what they are or why they're suddenly appearing. Surely there's a better way that this program can function than by creating 200 gb of extra files for projects? What am I doing wrong?

Those are tendré files. If you don’t need to render your media for playback don’t. Switch off background rendering in FCP preferences. Deleted generated files from the File menu. Also optimize files that you might not need can take a lot of space.

Video editing, especially with large format media, can take a lot of space. Don’t use your system drive to store your media. Get a fast, dedicated media drive. SSD would be best.

Tom is right best practices for final cut pro x

Media - > external SSD storage with speed compatible with ProRes 422 HQ or higher

Cache -> internal SSD storage

Effects -> other location (I use the internal Drive)

Library -> your preference I use the internal drive

The issue may also be with optimised files that would be ProRes 422 and start build up space even if you have source media on external SSD storage. This goes in the Media location destination
