where are my photos??
Our Mac updated to Catilina and I had photos stored in iphoto that I am unable to get to as it says I may only use photos. Where are all of the photos I had in iphoto...is there a way to retrieve them? Thank you.

Your iPhoto Photos should still be in your iPhoto Library. By default the iPhoto Library will be in your Pictures folder.
If you doubly click the iPhoto Library, you should be seeing a dialog asking you to open the library in Photos for Mac. Have you tried this? What happens?
If your iPhoto Library is on an external volume, you may want to check, if the external volume is compatible with Photos. On Catalina you cannot use a volume, that has been used for Time Machine backups to store a Photos Library. And the external volume needs to have a wired connection, not accessed over the network.
