Phone number for apple ID in Australia

Hello guys,

How to I enter my mobile number for my newly created apple ID. I was trying with area code 61 and mobile number as 04496**3**, but it showed error. What is the right format to enter mobile number in apple id. Without mobile number I am unable to update the billing and shipping section which in turn in required to install the latest macOS.

Try using 044 or 44 in the first box and then the rest of the number in the second box.
