can't open launch pad or get it to show on dock

tried apple help to open launch pad but can't expand the keyboard strip. I want to use launch pad but keep getting Siri.

Result: Siri relaunches automatically (and works again), also the ESC key starts working again.

If the LaunchPad icon is not in the Dock, drag its icon from the Applications folder into the Dock.
