Is it ok to delete old ios files from my mac?

My Mac is nearing capacity and I'm looking for files I can delete to open up some space. When I go to Manage my HD, there's a category list and in it is iOS Files. I see three iPhones and my iPad.

One of the iPhone files is from 2018 and the others are from 2019. The one from 2018 appears to be a backup of an old iPhone. Is this correct? Is there any reason I can't delete it?

Sure, you can safely delete that. But if your Mac is nearing capacity, you'll probably need more than that. For starters move larger, lesser used files off to an external drive.

This Support Topic has some good advice on freeing up storage.

As a rule of them 10-15% free space should be kept for efficient running of OS and apps.

I have a follow-up question. I have two additional iOS files, as I mentioned, last accessed 2/16/19 and 5/8/19. I assume that the latest is for my X Max which I purchased around that time.

Am I running a risk if I delete the 2/6/19 file? It's another 47 gb.

The names for both are the same, just "iPhone". Is there a way to identify exactly what phones these are associated with?
