My Macbook Pro has a flickering display. Specifically, the screen is divided into six equal columns and horizontal lines of magenta and teal are flickering. But when the screen is almost shut, the flickering goes away. Seems like a connectivity issue. Does anyone know how to fix that?

If the problem changes with physical movement, then you have a hardware issue as you suspected. Take the laptop to an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to be repaired.
