iPhone Speaker choice
since upgrading to ios 13.3 on iphone I can no longer just select speaker on my iphone. When I do I get a pop up requiring me to select speaker again

That is correct. That will appear if you have more than one audio choice available. That button is not a speaker only button, it is for all alternative speaker choices available for your iPhone.
