ipad os 13.3 snooze not working

I just updated to iPad OS 13.3 from the last OS 12.x. Never installed 13.0. I can’t get the snooze function to engage reliably since the update.

Previously I just touched and held the bars at the bottom of the alarm or calendar notification and the mini-menu popped down with "snooze" or "stop".

That no longer works, nothing happens when I press the bar. So I’ve tried tapping, that just takes me to the original application - clock or calendar. Have tried pulling down on the notification. About 1 time in 5 this will bring up the snooze/stop option. The rest of the time it either does nothing or it takes me to the application and I don’t get to snooze.

How do I make it work?
