Is anyone else having trouble with iPhone 8 battery suddenly draining significantly?

It sounds as if you have a process that is not completing and it keeps trying to finish. Go to Settings>Battery, and see what app is consuming the highest percentage of battery on the device. Start your troubleshooting there. You can also create a current backup of your device and try restoring that backup and se if that helps.

My iphone 8 battery suddenly is draining at a rapid rate. This happened a few weeks ago and then the problem resolved on its own. Now it is happening again.
