AirPod Mic Delay - Cutting our.

It seems I’m having the same issue as many others. Newest generation AirPods with 11pro iOS 13. Purchased in June and worked fine until a couple weeks ago. When I pause from speaking the mic doesn’t reengage when I start talking again which causes large gaps in calls. I’ve performed factory reset, repaired tried only using one mic (left and right) also disabled automatic ear detection. Nothing has worked. Very frustrating. These are expensive and should work properly. Any suggestions on a fix?

It looks like you already re-paired the AirPods to the iPhone 11..... Really just let's try once more and also can you tell me the firmware version you are on?

And then I think Apple is going to have to take care of this. They might just end up wanting you to bring them in and swap out for a new pair.

But let's try once again... I know it gets repetitive.

Settings > General > About > Airpods > Firmware Version

Try a full re-pair, reset, and try again.

Settings > Bluetooth > Airpods > Forget this device. Confirm it.

Put both Airpods in their case, charge them via Lightning for a few minutes (or preferably until the case is 100%). Unplug them. Open the case and hold the button on the back of the case for 15+ seconds or until the light flashes white. Hold them near your iPhone and see if the pairing screen comes up and pair them. If not, repeat until it does. But if you can't see the screen pop up, then manually pair within Bluetooth.

Just got back from a Genius Bar appointment with this same issue. Can you try using it in GarageBand or another app? I am having the issue on phone calls and in the voice memos app, but it works fine in GarageBand and Marco, and was able to replicate the issue in the same situations on the store’s iPad Air and the genius’s own iPhone X. Seems to be a software issue since it works fine in other apps.
