Forgot my password for mini IPad. Screen now says: connect to iTunes. Don't know what to do now

you need to erase your iPad using your home computer with iTunes. Follow the directions in this link EXACTLY --> If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
