I want to establish Family Sharing, but our original apple id is set up under my husbands email address. I don't want to lose all the apps, etc. we've already purchased under that apple id but want to be the one to control it, as he's on android and doesn't use apple products at all anymore. Not seeing how to do this.
Set up Family Sharing using your Apple ID, then invite the original Apple ID to be a Family member. Once that ID joins the Family, you will have access to the purchases made using that Apple ID.

Apple Accounts Cannot be Combined:
Most certainly note that as of this date, you cannot combine two or more Apple Accounts. Create a new Apple Account, and all from your original Apple Account, would be inaccessible by the newly-created Apple Account.
So, if you cannot change your Apple ID online, call Apple Support, and see what can be done over the phone.
