Unable To Verify MacOS - Installing Catalina to SSD Via PCIe Port on New Mac Pro 2019

Hello,

I recently purchased the new Mac Pro and am trying to boot from a internal SSD I installed via a PCIe Slot. Its been formated and ready for use but each time I download and try to install Catalina to it so I can use it at my scratch disk (2TB vs the 256gb on the internal SSD from Apple) I get the error that it can not verify macOS as seen in this screenshot. Any possible help here? Please and thank you!

Hello there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities, dsandal!

Thanks for that info and for choosing Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to reinstall macOS on your Mac Pro, receiving an error “Unable to verify macOS”.  First, if you haven’t already, I’d recommend deleting the installer that you previously downloaded and trying to download it again.

Additionally, please ensure that the date and time on your Mac are correct.  This will help ensure that your Mac is able to authenticate with Apple’s servers properly.  I’d also advise that you check to ensure there’s no problems with the hard drive using the steps found here: Repair a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

Lastly, I’d recommend trying a different network to see if the same thing occurs.  If it does, I’d suggest that you Contact Apple Support for additional assistance.

Cheers!
