Apple Pay support in South Africa

I notice that in the list of supported countries not a single country in the entire African continent is listed?

Specifically I want to find out why I cannot add my contactless, tap & go, FNB cards to Apple Wallet? This is a bank in South Africa.

My Apple Pay does work at vendors, but only with U.K. bank cards I’ve already added to my wallet. Is there a restriction that you can only add bank cards from one country to the wallet? (When I click to ‘Learn More’ it tells me the list of U.K. banks, not South African ones). What if one is dual national?
