Are my apps supposed to be the same with my ipad and phone?

Can my ipad and iphone have the same apps if they are synced up?

If so how, can i have the same apps without having to download all of them again.

If an app is for both iPhone and iPad you can. It’s up to the app developer whether you have to pay for each device. You do have to download them on each device, however, if you go to Settings/iTunes & App Store you can turn on Automatic Downloads. Then any new purchases will be downloaded automatically to all devices.

For existing apps open the App Store app, tap on your icon in the upper right, then Purchased/My Purchases/Not on this iPhone (or iPad) and you can download them from that screen rather than having to find them in the app store.

First of all, iPhone and iPad do not sync with each other. iOS devices sync with computers.

Syncing actually has nothing to do with apps’ code. (It may help coordinate data.)

Each iOS device obtains an app’s code by downloading it.

Regarding ‘the same apps”:

  • Some apps are designed only for iPhone. Some only for iPad.
  • Those apps designed for both may or may not use different versions on each.
