Normally I would highly recommend the Adonit Pixel stylus.

Unfortunately, currently, both Adonit and Amazon are out of stock of this stylus.

So, there are no good options I can recommend for a smart, Bluetooth stylus for your 1st gen iPad Air right now.

You could simply purchase a commonplace, disc tip capacitive stylus, which is a more accurate to use and use a specialty, non-body electrical conducting drawing/writing glove to be able to lay your hand/palm down on the iPad’s screen while writing or drawing.

Both of these can be found on Amazon.

I cannot recommend any other makers of smart, Bluetooth stylii other than the Adonit Pixel, which really works the best for any older iPad models that are not Apple Pencil compatible.

So, until Adonit re-stocks this stylus, options now for older iPads is extremely limited, now.
