I get request to put in my Apple ID password for an iCloud account that isn’t mine. Has anyone got an explanation?

I got this now on two separate days but about one week apart. I get multiple requests on my Apple Watch and iPhone to please put in my Apple ID password for an Apple ID that is not mine. The interesting tidbit is that one of the two Apple ID’s shown is one of my friend. Our devices are not connected in any way and all my apple devices are only logged into my own Apple ID.

What could be an explanation? Could there be some hacking involved? A Bug? My friend said he did not get anything on any of his devices. Each time it happened I pressed “Not Now”.

Thanks for your help,

Marc
