You should still have it unless you upgraded your system with an erase and clean install. You should be able to restore the app and the themes from the backup you made just prior to the erase and install.

The app will be in the Applications folder and the themes in a folder titled iDVD located in the Users/Home/Library/Application Support folder.

Of course you'll have to point iDVD to the location of the iDVD folder in iDVD's Advanced preference pane:

The last system that iDVD was fully compatible with was High Sierra. It began to have problems with Mojave and some of its animated themes.

You should still be able to get iDVD. I have it on my iMac, and I'm using Mojave (OS 10.14.6)

It was part of Apple's iLife suite of apps but discontinued after 10.7 Lion. Have a look in your Apps listing in Finder, it might still be there. If it is, then I would suggest dragging the icon to the dock.

This was the announcement on Google: iMovie projects and iPhoto slideshows can be exported directly to iDVD. ... iDVD isno longer preinstalled with OS X 10.7 Lion, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, OS X 10.9 Mavericks, OS X 10.10 Yosemite, OS X 10.11 El Capitan, macOS 10.12 Sierra, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, macOS 10.14 Mojave.

There are various alternatives to iDVD: iMovie is still there and it's free. Go to the app store>Categories>Top Free Apps. There are 70 free apps, some of which are in app purchases, but right at the top is iMovie. The iMovie app is 2.82 Gb. iDVD is only 103Mb.

Nope. iDVD will not be useable on new Macs as it's 32 bit. There are many video DVD authoring apps available. Two that look promising because they can use both still images and videos in creating a video DVD are Wondershare DVD Creator and DVD Maker Lite - DVD Creator. Both have demo versions that you can try before purchasing.
