You cannot download an app onto an iOS device from a website.

iOS devices are a closed ecosystem. You can only install apps from the App Store.

Thanks for your reply. I agree with you that I cannot download an App from a website but only from the App Store. I might have to disagree that it is a closed ecosystem. The reason being:

There was a recent data breach (ZYNGA.com) which indicated my wife’s email address and password were included in the data breach. The website was one she NEVER visited.

After a little research I found out she did however download a game a few years ago and then removed the game/App from the iPhone that this company provided to Apple's “Apps” section. I reviewed her iPhone and there were “NO” passwords or game Apps installed.

So being that she NEVER went to the actual website EVER and taking your answer into consideration, I would then change my question to "How did the App company/website get email and password information? Does downloading an app from the Apple Store to my mobile device allow Apple to provide my iPhone “email address” and iPhone “password” to the company/App website?"

I get the fact that a "Closed ecosystem" is ONLY for installing apps on an IOS device from the App store. Can we get past that fact and address the changed question? Does the App Store (Apple) provide my IOS device log-in information (userID/email and password to said App software company? If you do not know the answer then please let me know that fact, as it would allow me to not go to the Apple discussion and move onto other sites which might have the information I thought this would be the right location to get experienced subject matter expert answers.
