Backing Up iPhone & iPad

Did Apple change Music/iTunes to not let you back up your iPhone and or iPad to the computer? You can ONLY use iCloud now?

The Device icon will not show up.

With a Mac running Catalina, you use Finder, not Music, to backup an iPhone or iPad. See the instructions in How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
