USB-C HUB FORCES IPAD PRO 12.9 3RD GEN INTO HEADPHONES MODE

I purchased a FITPORT USB-C Hub for my IPad Pro but when its connected I can no longer hear audio through my IPad. Much troubleshooting later, I discovered that when I connect the Hub, and after a few seconds, the sound icon in the Control Centre changes dynamically from a loudspeaker to a set of headphones. My Hub does have a headphone socket but I really don’t want to have to use that just to listen to my IPad. Additionally, I can connect a blutooth headset which also works but, again, not desirable for daily use. Anyone else experiencing this issue with their USB-C Hub or any ideas as to how to force the IPad Pro back into loudspeaker mode?

Regards

Tom
