How do I block someone's number?

How do I block someone's number? and If I block that number does the person calling or sending message to me know that they are blocked?

No, they will not know they are blocked. Open the Phone App. Tap Recents > Tap the little blue circle with an i in it > Scan to bottom of that page and tap Block This Caller.
