E flat Not working on my midi keyboard and cant figure out why...help please!

Hi guys!

i am using the latest Logic with kontrol s 49 as my midi keyboard and the E flat in the C3 octave is not working. This happened before with other midi keyboards and i cant figure out how to solve it. Has anyone ever had that problem?

Thank you in advance!

Have you selected every zone and every mode and every control not found the Eb3 assignment (the one you are showing in the screenshot has the C5 assignd, see "value change" on the right)?

Also, do you in fact have this controller? There are a lot of assignments there, and they should all be gone if you do not have that controller.

The simpler solution is to select "bypass all control surfaces" and see if that helps (it should).

But somewhere in all those assigned controls the Eb3 is assigned and active, which is why you are not hearing it: it is "hijacked" by the controller function.

I guess so, I never had such an elaborate setup. But by bypassing the control surface you should at least be able to find out if the Eb3 is in fact assigned to a controller. Maybe it'll suffice to go through the zones only?

To be honest, I never fully understood how zones and modes work (or don't), as it is such a thing that only becomes clear when you actually use it, and I rarely use controllers other than those I might need on one live track, so it is "no zone" for me.

I also don't know if you need to have the zone or the mode or either or both selected in order for the pressed key to automatically lead you there.

It also seems to me that only the active zone or mode would hijack the notes assigned to it, but again: not sure.

It would indeed be rather a Herculean task to have to go through all those zones and modes. So: try bypassing first, just to make sure it is in fact assigned and active.
