what if there isn't a software update to click listed in the system preferences I received a warning stating that my Mac hadn't been updated for over 600+ days. I went online to see what I could do and it stated to go to apple menu hit system preferences then click onto software update. It isn't there. Is there anywhere else I can check.

About os update my MacBook is running os 10.8.5 and I can’t find update for it in store I was recently updated but when I formatted to factory reset its jumped to old os 10.8.5 now what should do to Get the notification for new update
