Is Apple Music backwards compatible with iTunes?
If I add a song to the Apple Music library in OS Catalina will it appear in the iTunes library in OS Mojave?

After some experimentation I see that the content is now the same but I need to get used to the fact that any new AIFF files I add to my library will be uploaded to iCloud Music Library in the AAC format.

Yes. The content of both libraries should be the same when using iCloud music library.

Do you have a problem? I use two iMacs. One with music app on Catalina, the other with iTunes on MacOS 10.11. I don’t notice any difference in content
