Possible hacking of iCloud account

I have received two telephone calls alleging that they were from Apple. They were informing me that my iCloud account had been tampered with/compromised or hack and that I should use caution if trying to pay for something or accessing my bank accounts. I need to know if this call was really from Apple?

Apple does not make such calls.

All such calls are scams from criminals attempting to steal your personal and financial information. The callers will often use number spoofing to pretend they are calling from a legitimate business. The correct course of action is to hang up on them, repeatedly if needed.
