My Apple TV first box isn’t being recognized by iTunes or the app and I can’t sign into iTunes either through the box. I also can’t see a place to set the date and time either. I have already reset it to factory reset and still no help. I would appreciate any help you can offer me resolving this issue.

What is your model Apple TV? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support


If you really have a 1st generation model (7.7" white/aluminum), then there is no good news. That model cannot connect to the iTunes Store anymore, and you can’t sync it through modern versions of iTunes anymore.

If your Apple TV is a 4" black box, then it is at least 2nd generation.
