HEVC video plays back distorted and glitchy

When I record HEVC video on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S10+) and import it to my laptop (Mid-2013 MacBook Air, MacOS Mojave) the video appears to be all distorted and glitched during playback on my laptop. This occurs when viewing the video in both Preview and Quicktime Player. The video appears fine on my phone.

These videos play fine with VLC player. Any video taken from the same phone in HEVC format (probably since iOS 12) plays smoothly in Photos, Quicktime and VLC player. Slow motion videos are degraded and scrambled. I capture videos in slow motion at a frame rate of 240 FPS. However, when I transfer these videos to my laptop or PC, I notice a degradation in their quality. Specifically, certain intervals within the videos exhibit a significant reduction in resolution, appearing pixelated and scrambled, while the rest of the video maintains a higher quality. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. it is normal when the video starts but goes bad after a few seconds.

HEVC iPhone 12 video not playing in QuickTime 10.5 I just shot a ton of water skiing video on my iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS15.6 The 4K 60 HEVC movies play beautifully from the phone but when exporting or Air Dropping to my Late 2018 MacBook Pro (running Big Sur 11.2.3) the QuickTime player doesn't work. I hit play and it just jumps to the end of the file in 1 second. I can slew through the source file and see all of the pretty video but it won't playback on the QT Player. I'm editing in FCPX and of course I have the same problem. What's going on? Do I need to convert the files? I also have a ton of slo-mo 240 fps that I want to use too. HELP!!! Brian
