Reminders not working properly on Watch

Basically since the update to iOS 13/Watch OS 6 I had issues with reminders on the watch (currently using an Apple Watch 3): I can’t add them through Siri on the watch (either it says it couldn’t create the reminder and instead it does create it, or it just doesn’t create it), and if I get a notification in the watch I can’t mark it as done or if I manage to mark it as done it stays as “to be done” on the iPhone.

if I unpair and paid again the watch the problem gets fixed but just for a while.

Anyone has any idea/suggestion? It is really annoying, because for work and other stuff I do use them a lot.

Hello, Chenotizia.

I understand that you are unable to create Reminders using Siri via your Apple Watch. I love the hands-free convenience when using Siri with my Apple Watch and am glad to help.

Are both the Apple Watch and the iPhone up-to-date?

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update your Apple Watch

I also wanted to make sure you had the portion of the Apple Watch User Guide that talks about how to set and respond to reminders on Apple Watch. As a part of the troubleshooting steps, could I get you to attempt to make a reminder in the three ways noted in the article?

  1. Firmly tap the display and tap New Reminder
  2. Scroll to the bottom of a list and tap New Reminder
  3. Use Siri and say something like, "Remind me to pick up my dry cleaning at 5 PM."

Did any of these work? If, after ensuring both devices are updated, the issue persists, please note the results of the troubleshooting steps and contact Apple Support.

Best Regards.

Chenotizia,

I understand what it's like to not live near an Apple Store. I'm a few hours from the closest one myself. I would suggest reaching out to Apple directly. Once you are partnered with an Apple Support Advisor, they will work with you to determine the next best steps. You can contact Apple Support right here.

I also wanted to provide you with Apple's location finder tool. There may not be an Apple Store, but you may find that there is an Apple Authorized Service Provider closer than you think.

Find Locations

Best Regards.

I have been having this issue w my Apple Watch 3 since last Fall! I have called Apple several times and keep being told that it’s a known issue. They put a new iOS out and they stopped, then finally it started working again and now with the new iOS.... NOTHING. I have set up the daily reminder about 50 times and it never works. This is soooo frustrating bc this is one of the main reasons I got this watch. I even changed the time for the “reminder today” to the time I need and that DIDN'T work! What’s the deal Apple?? This is a simple thing right??

I am having the same issues with not being able to mark reminders complete or snoozing them because as he said, it either is unresponsive when I tap the buttons or it acts like it recorded my response because the notification goes away but it actually didn’t complete or snooze it.

I can usually set reminders on the watch, but have had the same issues as this gentleman.

Ive had this problem since iOS 13 as well. It is very annoying and removes a large part of the functionality of the watch.

Also Siri is very slow and 1/2 of the time she says something went wrong, part of that she says she didn’t do it but actually did what you asked. Sometimes she can’t do the task on the first try.

Is Apple working on this defect?
