iPhone 11 Pro Max calculator input response is too slow

When tapping in numbers for calculations, the iPhone does not recognise all the numbers, even though the number pad highlights to show it has been tapped.

Consequently, calculations may be wrong.

I am having to slow down tapping the numbers to ensure they are all input properly.

Not impressed.

Is there anything buried in Settings so I can adjust screen response time for the calculator?
