I own a iPhone 7 plus.
After many times failed attempt to enter the right passcode, my device was locked. I reset it to factory settings via iTunes, and then: 1) Succesful reset 2) No access to my phone carrier. When I enter my sim card, the message "Invalid sim card" appears.
I purchased my device by an eBay retail store. I live in Greece.

Is this a phone you have not activated yet? What is the exact message you are seeing on the screen, and in what part of activation is this occurring? If you are just starting and the message says something like invalid SIM, not a carrier supported by activation, they the device is locked to a carrier other than the one that you are trying to use. If the device was advertised as an unlocked phone on eBay, then start a claim with eBay for a refund.

Yes, that is exactly the message you would get if the phone is locked to a carrier. You can use the Contact Support link at the top of this page and ask the Apple tech who that carrier is. You can then contact the carrier and ask about their unlocking policy.
However, if the phone was sold as unlocked you were scammed. Contact eBay about it.
