Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. That’s a great question. I’m happy to explain how iCloud works in relation to your location history.
If you create a backup in iCloud and then restore that backup, your location history will be located in the backup. It’s encrypted and the only way you can access it is by restoring the backup on an iOS device.
iCloud doesn’t sync or store your location history anywhere other than your backup.
