My Ipod totally died. How do I get it removed from my account?

What do you mean? iPods don't count toward your 5 authorizations. A dead iPod will have no effect on your ability to use another iPod with your iTunes library or to use any of your purchased content.
If you decide to buy a new one, Apple takes the old ones back and will give you 10% off the new one.
