The dock
is there anyway of locking the dock to prevent apps from being accidentally removed?
Update: are there any apps that allow this?

You may already know this, but the icons that appear on the dock are aliases, not the apps themselves. If one is deleted, it is a simple matter to simply drag the apps icon down to the dock again and it (the alias) will be placed there. I must ask, why is this a serious or an ongoing problem for you?
