Someone is trying to sign-in to my account

I got a message this morning and this evening that someone was trying to sign into my account in a different part of the state I live in. I changed my password twice today. I am not sure what to do. I am seeing this on my phone and ipad.

iPad Air, iOS 12

Were you logging in at the time? See the following from Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

(ignore the "new device" wording -- happens on existing devices as well)

When you sign in on a new device, you’ll get a notification on your other trusted devices that includes a map showing the approximate location of the new device. This is an approximate location based on the IP address the device is currently using, rather than the exact location of the device. The location shown might reflect the network you're connected to, and not your physical location.

If you know you’re the person trying to sign in but you don’t recognize the location shown, you can still tap Allow and continue signing in. However, if you ever see a notification that your Apple ID is being used to sign in on a new device and you're not the one signing in, tap Don’t Allow to block the sign in attempt.

Modifying your Credentials:

First off, and foremost, it'd seem most reliable to open a new eMail Account, and assign it to your Apple Account: That seems the safest way to troubleshoot this.

Then, View your Devices:

  1. Log in to: appleid.apple.com
  2. Scroll Down to: Devices
  3. Rid of: Unfamiliar Devices

With logging in being of main concern, look at the phone numbers, and devices associated to your account. Rid of any device whatsoever that looks suspicious. And rid of phone numbers other than yours. Click it, and select Remove from Account.
