Logic x playing back software instruments out of key

Logic x is playing back some software instruments out of tune randomly. I have removed my apogee interface and playing through my iMac, disconnecting my external keyboard and the problem persists which eliminates third party tool issues. Certified Apple repair shop found no issues with my iMac. I have 12 years of logic experience and have never encountered this problem which is devastating after working very hard on a song, almost done and it’s worthless. Apple support has no solution other than to update so I now have the most current operating system and version of logic as of January 2020, problem persists.

Check your regions for Pitch Bend events (in the Event Editor). It is ALWAYS pitch bend events that cause this. Always.

Nothing related to the hardware inside any iMac could cause that (which again reinforces the fact that "certified repair shops" understand nothing about how music production software works).

The software also does not cause this, so "updating" is a non-solution, which goes to show that also most Apple help employees understand nothing about music production software.

Your controller keyboard has sent pitch Bend events, and they got recorded. Could also be modulation events, your description is not fully clear about the nature of the detuning.

Erik, you are a gentleman and a scholar, the problem is resolved ! I can't thank you enough. I went in to the pitchbend automation area and I deleted all those unwanted automation points. You are so right about support from authorized apple repair shops. Direct support from apple is who had me update the operating system and logic which I would have never done and I should have known better. Fortunately my apogee device already has an update for OS Catalina. Unfortunately there are no updates for my m-audio Axiom 61 keyboard for Catalina but it seems to be playing OK.
