Dual Webcam lens capability?

Iv'e noticed my MacBook Pro has two lens within the webcam. I have a sliding webcam cover but noticed when I slide the cover to the right to cover the cam lens it reveals another eyehole lens on the left side. Does the camera unit within Mac Book Pro webcam have two operating lens that have the capability to record?

Thank you,

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.14

Thank you for replying Leroy. But I still want to know what the other eyehole lens is for.

I'm sorry —what is it you want to know?

The camera lens if for the FaceTime Camera

The Light Sensor is for the light sensor— keyboard backlight/automatic screen brightness.
