This last week my desktop has started freezing to the point I need to shut it down.
I just ran diagnostics, so it isn’t a hard ware issue. This last time I had chrome (gmail and one other website) and safari (xfinity email and LinkedIn) open along with one short word doc and a small spreadsheet.
i haven’t installed anything new.
ideas of what could cause this and how to fix?

Thank you for the suggestion. I spent nearly 2 hours with a very helpful Apple employee, and we worked out the various issues going on. I'm good now.
