windows 10 NTFS bootable usb not recognised

I have created a windows 10 bootable usb using unetbootin. The usb is 16GB and is currently of the NTFS type as the win.install file originally couldn't be opened when the usb stick used the FAT32 partition style as it is 5GB. I have the windows support software on that usb as well. I reset my Mac after doing all of this and now the usb stick is not showing up as a bootable driver. How can I fix this? Changing back to FAT32 wouldn't work as the win.install file will not open, and windows 10 will not be installed. Any and all help is appreciated.

  • Use exFAT instead of FAT32 or NTFS.
  • What is the year/model of your Mac (do not post the serial number)?
  • Some Macs do not support external boot due to Security settings. See About Secure Boot - Apple Support for reference.
