Hello lizzieS77,
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! From your message it sounds like you no longer wish to use Touch ID to access the App Store.
Keep in mind that when your Touch ID is not recognized by the App Store you should receive a prompt to enter your Apple ID password to complete the transaction in the App Store. This includes updating apps.
To turn off the Touch ID, follow these steps:
1 - Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode
2 - Enter the Passcode for your iPhone.
3 - Turn off the services which you no longer want to use Touch ID with.
4 - You can also remove the Fingerprints if you wish to no longer use Touch ID.
All the best.
