Battery Replacement

If I were to have my battery replaced at Best Buy or at an Apple store, and something goes wrong while they are replacing it and my phone becomes damaged/broken, is there a warranty? Or would I just lose my phone? And if everything goes right, is there a guarantee that the battery will stay good for so long?

By way my phone has no cracks and has had no previous work done on it before so if something does go wrong, it would be because of whoever was replacing the battery.

There's a 90 day warranty on parts and service. If they mess up I would think they would make things right. OTOH - it's not out of the question that someone makes a mistake and then claims that it was a preexisting condition. I have heard of some AASP service where they refused to service it because they "discovered" some damage such as the screw threads stripped. Whether or not it was there before or caused by the technician is impossible to say.

If Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider like Best Buy damages your phone, they will be responsible. The phone will be evaluated carefully before any service is performed to ensure there is no damage prior to any repair. I can't remember seeing any posts from people who had authorized battery replacements performed at Apple or Best Buy where the phone was damaged by the servicer.

Hey y_p_w,

Welcome to the Apple Support Community! Seems that you’re having trouble with Battery Replacement warranty.

I would think that if you get your battery replaced and they mess up they will, either give you a new phone or pay you back the cost of your phone. If you get it replaced, you should ask them if they have an agreement document that you can look at for their services.

Thanks for asking a question, don’t be afraid to ask any more!😁

Adios!
