I cannot tether as I usually do. Get a camera busy on my camera and it doesn't recognize if I try to import via cable. Says no photos. I have done all the trouble shooting with Adobe and Canon says to ask Apple. CaptureOne works so I know it is not my camera or the new cable.
I am running Catalina 10.15.2 and 9.1 Lr. And have done firmware updates on camera.
This is a new issue.

so, why not simply take out the camera card and put it into a USB reader or the one on your Mac if yours has one. It will result in the icon showing on your desktop and you can open, view the pics, and import into whatever photo editing app. Much easier to deal with and no camera software needed.
What are you using to try to import that doesn't work?
Have you tried excluding the Camera card in Spotlight\s Privacy Pane?
Does the card show up in Disk Utility?
Had to go back to my old 17in mbp. It’s not supported by Apple anymore but yet everything just works. Funny.
Thank you for your response. That is one of the ways to import yes (into Lr). And an example to show that the camera is not being seen. However, the main concern here is the inability to tether. This is for studio work.
Okay, if you need to shoot tethered, then I cannot help you as I only use the card in a reader. However, I tried to find their system requirements on the website and could not, probably also because I do not know which version of Capture One you have - just in case it would have something to do with the problem.
I also assume you have the Mac's preferences set to show external devices on the desktop?
Yes, the issue is about tethering. This issue only has occurred since Catalina. CaptureOne current version version in 13.0.1.19.
I’m having the same problem. The camera just stays in a busy state. Same issue with capture one.
Right. Hard to imagine so many people can not tether right now. There are other ways, but this seems odd to have it not work.
